He’s a rock-star, whose had support from the likes of ‘U2’ and ‘Simply Minds’, and has also supported ‘The Who’, on their USA tour, the ‘White Stripes’ and ‘Primal Scream’ with ‘The Only Ones’, of which he co-produced the first two albums. He’s played at Glastonbury, 02 Wireless Festival and CBGB’s New York – to name a few. His first band ‘The Beatstalkers’ were the first Scottish Boyband who set the female hearts of Scotland in to overdrive when they caused a riot on 1965 in Glasgow’s George Square.
Alan Mair has been writing songs for many years, and witnessing the current accessibility to worldwide digital distribution of music, and the ability to keep control of it, he has decided to finally release them.
Alan’s first band ‘The Beatstalkers’, used to work with David Bowie in his early years as a song-writer, and during that time they became good friends. On one occasion at his boot shop in Kensington market Alan gave David a pair of boots he couldn’t afford and had his shop manager Freddy Mercury fit them for him.
Alan’s debut solo single ‘Four Winds’ is due for release on the 15th December. The track itself is an eclectic blend of alternative rock with resonating vocals. However, if you can’t wait until December, take a listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/alan-mair-field-of-one/four-winds
The talented Shane Thomas has formerly been dubbed ‘Britain’s Mozart’ and is quite possibly the most talented teenager across the British music industry.
‘Mrs Matisee’ is the latest single from the classical star and is to be released 10th December, prior to the release of his debut album, ‘From Me To You’, due for release soon after.
‘Mrs Matisee’ showcases Shane’s incredible talent and beautifully demonstrates the amazing capabilities of this young composer. The tack in undeniably stunning and transpires audiences into the fascinating world of Shane Thomas.
Shane was inspired to write the track earlier this year when he saw a painting by Henri Matisse. He was so taken with the beauty of the painting that he decided to compose a piece of music about it. Shortly after writing the track Shane discovered that Debussy had been inspired by the very same painting and produced a well known piece of music called, Arabesque.
Shane began playing the piano at the tender age of seven and has since taken on the challenge of mastering the art of the cello and percussion. Shane dreams up all of his music. He has never sat at a piano to compose anything. He does it all in his head, then later sits to play the piece. He can immediately play any melody or song he hears.
Impressively aged just ten, Shane was the youngest person in history to be signed to a music publisher, E.M.I. music.
Hailing from St Albans after a period of studying in Sheffield, Adam Protz has had several years to perfect his craft of composing. Using delicate piano melodies and intricate instrumentals, Adam Protz has created his beautiful EP ‘Movements’, consisting of four alluring and exquisite tracks. In the past, Adam has written music for films, animated shorts, a dance show, an educational DVD and even a brewery documentary!
Protz has been writing music since the tender age of fifteen and began his journey into music writing heavy rock songs with soft orchestral bridge sections as a contrast, this developed into a desire to write for Hollywood movies. However, after listening to minimalistic meditative piano music, written by the likes of Ludovico Einaudi, Adam soon discovered that he was much more suited to creating emotive music in which he could incorporate his own personality and spirituality.
The lack of lyrics in the music leaves it up to the listener to interpret the piece as they wish. It provokes an emotional reaction and is also incredibly relaxing. The ‘Movements’ EP is proof that lyrics aren’t a necessity to provoke powerful sentimental thoughts.
Protz aims to inspire relaxation and offers the perfect setting for escaping to through his music. A firm believer that the world is over-obsessed with Smart-phones and social networks, Protz encourages listeners, from all walks of life, to return to the roots and escape with him into his musical world of beautiful, elegant minimalism.
‘Movements’ is due for release on the 30th November.
Emotional single begins the run up to a debut album release
Available from September 22nd, ‘Stars’ is the new single from acoustic singer-songwriter Jessie Lowes. Based in Northumberland and specialising in a delicate mix of clear vocal and guitar picking, Lowes is a songwriter not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve when it comes to her music. The single ‘Stars’ was written for her mother who passed away in 2008 from Cancer, and the song is a tribute to their close relationship:
It’s hard to believe that a song this delicate is the work of an ex-cage fighter and club level rugby player – the light touch and subtleties of her music covering a tougher background than most, a childhood that music played a huge part in.
It comes as little surprise to learn that Jessie grew up around music, often using it as an escape. Her Uncle Tony Raine was a famous jazz pianist working with the likes of Louis Armstrong, Julian Slade, Judy Garland and Diana Ross, and had his own TV show in the 60s called MusicBox. And it is from this solid pedigree that Lowes’ musical pedigree was borne.
And now, with further singles and an album due before the end of this year, Jessie Lowes is set to take her love affair with music to the next level.
The Mcooleys are a British born but Mallorca based trio inspired by the bands of the 60s and 70s, their music characterised by percussively strummed guitars and energetic writing. Given a contemporary twist by the members’ flair for performance and writing style the EP is out now.
Formed by brothers Adam Booley (Vocal, lead guitar) and Matthew Booley (2nd vocals, drums) with best friend Jake McCann (Bass guitar), the trio are quickly building a local reputation by gigging around the island of Mallorca.
A guitar based group with their very own swagger and style, they are hoping to take their music to a wider audience with ‘Empty Blue Skies’ – starting with the full UK release of the EP.
‘Empty Blue Skies’ is available now from online stores.
Scarlet Baxter looks to break through with August 18th single release
A London based artist with a fiercely independent streak, Scarlet Baxter is a female singer-songwriter who has been described as ‘Lauren Hill meets Jimi Hendrix’. A killer combination of stellar vocals and soulful guitar backing thanks to co-writer Dominic Ireland, Scarlet Baxter is an artist with a genuine chance of breaking through having turned the heads of some the industry’s top names.
With a new EP ‘Stuck’ due for release soon, lead single ‘Backsliding’ is a classy introduction to Scarlet’s powerful sound. Having worked on the EP with producers including John McLaughlin (known as ‘The Hit Man’ thanks to previous successes), Jud Mahoney (Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Chris Brown, Usher, Mariah Carey) and Natalie DeLucia (Britney Spears), this is music not only well written but also superbly captured by a team of industry heavyweights.
Scarlet Baxter is no stranger to the spotlight since winning performance contests as young as 14 years of age. Later, she went through years of musical theatre training and, although the musical theatre is not reflected in her earthy style, she did learn the art of performance and gain confidence in her own ability.
More recently, her star has continued to rise thanks to numerous support slots with Lester Clayton as well as playing Barfly, Camden with Stax Revue. It’s little wonder her music has featured on London’s BBC Introducing with Gavin Crowley, with The Stage and Television Today also marking the talented songwriter as ‘One to Watch’.
“This is who I am” brings a bass fueled, revival to the soul scene. Produced by talented young producer KING for Lateko Records, it will be released July 14th. The single also reached #27 on the National Airplay Top 50 Gospel Chart (US) in December 2013 sharing the spotlight with notable artists such as Mary Mary, William McDowell, Donnie McClurkin and others. Her second single release “Love Me Through” was well received by the media and already performing live sessions with some of the top radio stations such as Premier Radio and top venues such as The Vortex, she is one to follow.
London Born musician, Lateefah is a neo soul artist who after returning to the UK from her parent’s native country of St Lucia, is now working on further developing her gift for making music. Her new single releasing this year, will hope to demonstrate the talent and efforts of this young neo soul artist.
The cool Caribbean Artist started out singing in church at a young age, and gathers a lot of the inspiration for her work, from her own personal diaries from her childhood. Adapting these written records of her past, Lateefah has been able to create moving and soulful songs that entertain and educate her listeners about her colorful past.
Lateefah developed her passion for singing from early on as 3 years of age! Her earliest memory of being driven by the art, was trying to hit the right notes in the song “The Lord is my Shepherd”. Rehearsing relentlessly, until she hit it with pitch perfect precision. After that success and a great deal of extra practice, the music industry became a second home for the young superstar. The music blood has been in Lateefah’s family since her father founded the 70’s Reggae band, Cygnus.
Rollys Syndicate are the Warwickshire based band, that are mixing contemporary blues and soul. They are now set to release a new album for the summer. Working together, Milli aids Roland with moving lyrics, whilst Ro’ brings the guitar backing.
Their music has that open air quality you only reall see in the Jazz genre. With great guitar playing and memorable lyrics, the band congregates together; to make a thoroughly enjoyable collection of moving and expressive tracks.
After a long period of co-operation with the band, Milli could no longer commit to the long term vision of the group. However, in honour of the bands history together, the Roland Syndicate decided to dedicate their debut album to Milli and her lyrical talents.
Fortunately, she happily agreed to collaborate on a short term basis. It’s for this reason that most of the lyrics in the album draw their influence from both the bands everyday life and Milli’s personal journey to this point.
The band has now picked a new vocalist from a selection of more than 30 applicants. Her name is Natalie Brown and the band tells us that she is as good as Milli!
Her background includes being the lead vocalist in the original band, StoneSoulUK from February 2006 to October 2013 (writing and performing mainly original material, as well as cover material). Natalie has also lent her vocal talents to the cover band ‘the Bottle’, whilst studying at university (1997-2000). Ontop of all this she has performed at major west midland venues such as The Yardbird, Victoria Square and The Malthouse.
Natalie Brown’s influences include Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys and Michael Jackson.
Hungarian born, Roland produced the album as part of achieving a degree at Staffordshire University. He has showcased his talents at many different live gigs such as: The Public (West Bromwich), Hare & Hounds (Birmingham), Bulls Head (Birmingham), Mixing Bowl Theatre (Birmingham). Roland said that he has played many live gigs but for him the biggest event was at the Sziget Festival.
On-top of these live shows, the group has also been featured on the ‘BBC Introducing’ series, played on Radio Warwickshire, Airplay & The Musical Journey show (live), Tweets & web mentions (Clay Lowe/SoulCuzer radio presenter), Radio Plus – Airplay & Live Room Session.
Through the years, Milli and Roland have developed a good understanding of the musical influences they wanted to follow, and thus developed a winning musical chemistry. Roland’s professionalism and creativity seemed to work well with Milli adding her soulful tones, as she is not only a talented vocalist, but also an amazing songwriter with a history in Drama and Literature.

The Paramedic is excited to announce the release of the band’s new album, ‘Diary Of My Demons’ slated for release on Bullet Tooth on August 12, 2014. The 5 piece Dayton, OH natives will be releasing a regular and deluxe edition of the record, a follow-up to the group’s label debut, ‘Smoke & Mirrors’. The standard edition will be a 10 track release, while the deluxe edition will contain 4 bonus tracks. Our friends at MobtownTV filmed an in-studio video of the band tracking the album and you can watch it here. Fans can pre-order the album at iTunes (with 4 BONUS songs!) and get CDs and merch at the Bullet Tooth webstore.
‘Diary Of My Demons’ sees a maturation and growth that has been unparalleled by the band. Vocalist and lyricist Michael Luciano commented, “This album was not for the faint of heart, and I think these songs are going to show that. ‘Diary Of My Demons’ is an album full of darkness, anger, sadness, and self-reflection. There were some things that I needed to get off of my chest, demons that I had to let go of. What better way to let them go than by sharing my demons with the world.”
The Paramedic released its Bullet Tooth debut album ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ in October 2012, which peaked at #8 on the iTunes Metal Chart. The group toured in support of the release with Dance Gavin Dance, A Lot Like Birds, The Bunny The Bear, and more, including an appearance at 2013’s South By So What Festival in Texas.
Living the dream is a philosophy that Michael Luciano and the guys thrive to live out on a daily basis and will have nothing stand in their way. Against his parents’ wishes, Luciano dropped out of college to pursue his dream of making it in the world of music. This intense internal struggle has made Luciano’s lyrics a personal one-of-a-kind statement that range from raising awareness towards rape to standing up for what you believe in. Judging by the nearly 500,000+ views of their cover of Lil’ Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot” on YouTube and their 57,000 fans on Facebook, all of the hard work and life altering decisions have been worth it.
“With ‘Diary Of My Demons’, we wanted to define who we are as a band. We pushed our boundaries musically and lyrically to tap our true potential and I think these songs truly show it,” adds guitarist/songwriter Jake Nolan.
In early 2012, the bands’ dream finally came together when New Jersey based record label, Bullet Tooth, signed The Paramedic to a deal. Joining other acts such as Affiance, Throw The Fight, Death Ray Vision and more, the band is sure to reach new audiences that they only ever dreamed about. “It’s been our dream to not only be signed to a label, but also to a label that we know and trust and with Bullet Tooth, we know we are getting just that” said vocalist Michael Luciano.
The band is preparing for future tour dates (TBA) and Luciano goes on to say “We could have never done this without the help of a reputable label and now that we have the backing of an amazing label, we plan on making nothing but the best for our fans. We cannot wait to see what the future holds.”
