The female flair which Melba Moore adds to Tiempo elevates the tune to a whole new realm. Filled with emotion and pain, Tiempo is a stunning single from this dream team.

Soul diva Melba Moore is a four time Grammy® nominee and winner of the 1970 Tony Award®, for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, for her performance as Lutiebelle in Purlie.

Both a musical and Broadway legend Melba Moore lends her incredible vocal abilities and funky flair to Tiempo. With a massive eleven top ten US hits, Melba Moore is one of Pop music’s most enduring talents.

Crack of Dawn are legends in their own right. The Canadian powerhouses became the first ever Black Canadian band to sign with a major label, having joined Columbia in 1975.

After a period apart, Crack of Dawn reunited for a concert at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre in 2012. The group began working on a new album shortly after; with a lineup of old and new, the soulful legends were back and better than ever.

Tiempo, translating as ‘time’ in Spanish, is a grooving Soul track written by Dennis Nieves and Michael Dunston. Tiempo tells the tale of two lovers needing time to find themselves again after a tumultuous split. A soulful and emotive single, combining some of the best talents in the Soul & Funk genres, this track is truly unstoppable.

Track Review: 'I Belong In Hell' by Jodie H. Dunn

Jodie H. Dunn is a young, but supremely talented singer-songwriter hailing from Swindon who uses her life experience as material for her powerful and heartfelt songs.
Having been bullied for long periods of her teenage years at school, growing up wasn’t easy for Jodie. Also, when she made her first foray into the music industry, she encountered a shady producer/manager who ended up trying to sue her family over a contract dispute. You’d think things like this would put Jodie off music all together, but for her, it was always a welcome escape where she could truly express her feelings.
Since then, Jodie has progressed her music and songwriting in leaps and bounds, now releasing her first professionally produced track, ‘I Belong In Hell’, along with the help of Andy Whitmore at Greystoke Studios.
Consequently, ‘I Belong In Hell’ is a beautifully produced track that allows Jodie’s remarkable vocals to steal the limelight. The bass is looming, the drum beat is strong and booming, yet neither take away anything from Jodie’s voice and the meaning behind her well-crafted lyricism. In addition to that, there is a great little piano hook that is subtle and intermittent, but sets the tone at the beginning of the song perfectly.
It’s also refreshing to hear a different pop style in this day and age; we’re so accustomed to the status quo of r’n’b/ dance infused pop that has dominated the genre in recent years, but Jodie’s brand of soulful, slightly dark, yet enchanting pop brings something else to the table entirely.
So, if you’re fed up of the conveyor belt material you hear everyday on the radio, then definitely give Jodie H. Dunn’s ‘I Belong In Hell’ a listen. You won’t be disappointed.

The soulful single ‘Love Me Through’, produced by London based KING, is released on April 18th – an excellent introduction to her smooth vocal and laid back electronic soul sound.
