Fervent Rock Band ‘The Pinpricks’ Are Here to Show Us Punk is Not Dead

Gritty German rock-band The Pinpricks have come to make their mark on the modern rock scene with their fantastic EP Rituals, consisting of three passionate unique songs that emulate the likes of The Pretty Reckless and Royal Blood. The Pinpricks are already being well-deservingly noticed by Germany’s biggest rock radio show, Rock Hard Magazine. The strong vocals of Ronja Kiminsky are perfectly matched with Nil Degendhardt’s bass playing and Rico Kobarg’s powerful drums. The three complement each other’s talents and it’s almost impossible to resist the urge to headbang.

The Pinpricks have already rocked stages across Open Flair Festival, Stemweder Open Air and Wilwarin Festival and it’s easy to see them becoming a staple of modern rock. In their EP ‘Rituals’ each song hits with their distinguished style yet each of the three are unique and capture the listener with their individual flair and fiery essence of modern rock.

Each song off their EP (Rainmaker, Bait, and Ritual) are all fantastically individual with staple guitar progressions that are reminiscent of Royal Blood. Combined with the powerful female vocals of Kiminsky, the heavy guitar and drums all come together to make meaningful songs that have you wanting to run into the middle of a moshpit. Their official music video for ‘Bait’ perfectly encapsulates the mixture of traditional rock with a more modern, almost steampunk, twist. The visual poetry of the video alongside the heavy sound of the song creates an atmosphere that draws everyone in. The music video for ‘Bait’, can be found here:

All three songs of ‘Rituals’ are incredible and it is clear that unapologetic punk is not leaving us any time soon. With The Pinprick’s debut album coming later this year, we can only wonder what they have in store for us next.

Winchester 7 & The Runners unleash fuzz-rock anthem ‘When the World Stops Spinning’

What better way to get you through the Tuesday blues than listening to an unforgettable fuzz-rock number!? We can’t think of anything better! Winchester 7 & the Runners are the garage-rock band that you need in your life. Stomping their way through mesmerising instrumentation and fuzz imagery, their new single ‘When the World Stops Spinning‘ is best described as ‘dad-rock’ – which we don’t think is a bad thing.

Inspired by the 70s sci-fi movie ‘Logan’s Run’, the band state, “As the Logan’s Run society was based on human cloning resulting in individuals with numbers after their names to denote their generation of clone, I am Winchester 7. Why Winchester? I chose the name from the television show MASH. That’s right…it’s a MASH mash-up.

Classical Music’s Unlikely Rising Star Six Nights announces new album ’21’

When you see a numeric album title, I don’t know about you, but I instantly think of Adele. Six Nights’ music is far from pop. Set to release his debut album ‘21‘, the remarkable offering is bathed in classical sensibilities, making it a mature release filled with creativity. Not only drawing inspiration from the likes of traditional classical music artists, Six Nights is also influenced by the likes of R&B, hip-hop and even film scores. A cinematic artist that has used this past year in a positive light, ’21’ showcases how diverse Six Nights truly is.

Most likely to find him in a tracksuit than a suit, Six Nights thinks outside the box and makes him a strong contender in the classical world. Not following your typical rulebook or strict guidelines, Six Nights showcases that 2021 is the year of being true to yourself. If this past year has taught us anything it’s to live in the now and love yourself for who you truly are, and that’s exactly what Six Nights accomplishes on ’21’. A breathtaking story with elements of new-age instrumental moments, this highly emotive album will leave you speechless.

Rising Canadian singer-songwriter Jozem returns with experimental-soul single ‘Dreams’

Singer-songwriter and producer Jozem returns to the airwaves with experimental-soul number ‘Dreams’. Utterly golden and already racking nearly 3,000 streams on Spotify alone since it’s release at the beginning of February, “Dreams” is accompanie by an eye-catching music shot and directed by Ayo Tsalithaba.

Talking about the release, Jozem mentions, “‘Dreams’ is a meditation, a prayer and a projection of where I want to be in life, a guiding compass of sorts. The song is really all about cutting out those naysayers, the internal and external voices of self-doubt that lead you to stall or try to block you from realizing your goals.

‘Dreams’ is about recognizing and having the strength to do away with the toxic influences in your life that reap negativity and self-doubt, repurposing that toxicity and using it as fuel to propel oneself further. Ultimately, it’s about remaining steadfast, knowing that you are on the right path, that the journey is as important and sometimes even more meaningful than the destination.”

Mysterious and unlike anything else you hear nowadays, ‘Dreams’ is completely innovative and irresistible. If this track was served on a table, it would be via a silver platter. If you’re into artists such as FKA Twigs and even the remarkable work of the late, great PRINCE, Jozem will be right up your street.

Glaswegian artist Leif Coffield unleashes new single ‘Say My Name’

Released February 5th, ‘Say My Name‘ may have only been out for a short amount of time, but it’s certainly turning heads within the electro-pop world. Best described as innovative and easily able to become the next big thing in the industry, Leif Coffield has already gained support from the likes of CLASH, national BBC Radio and many sites across the web.

Say My Name‘ features electronic instrumentations and cutting lyricism. Exploring themes like tackling the feeling of being pressured in a relationship and the yearning to be set free again, the track conveys a mantra of self discovery and assurance.

On creating music and influences, Leif explains: “I try in each of my songs for them to have one unique element, or one distinguishing factor that sounds out of the ordinary and that separates it from the norm. I take a lot of inspiration from artists that endeavour to break the mould and refrain from operating within the confines of the mainstream...

Artists like Flume, FINNEAS, Kanye West, Bon Iver push the boundaries of the creative process. I would describe my music as if hip hop impregnated acoustic and gave birth to a baby that was raised in an electronic family. I always try to evoke emotion in the song whether it be through the instrumentation or accompanying vocal melody and lyrics.”

Say My Name‘ is out now, and deserves your ears to taste on.
