What better way to get you through the Tuesday blues than listening to an unforgettable fuzz-rock number!? We can’t think of anything better! Winchester 7 & the Runners are the garage-rock band that you need in your life. Stomping their way through mesmerising instrumentation and fuzz imagery, their new single ‘When the World Stops Spinning‘ is best described as ‘dad-rock’ – which we don’t think is a bad thing.
Inspired by the 70s sci-fi movie ‘Logan’s Run’, the band state, “As the Logan’s Run society was based on human cloning resulting in individuals with numbers after their names to denote their generation of clone, I am Winchester 7. Why Winchester? I chose the name from the television show MASH. That’s right…it’s a MASH mash-up.“
Singer-songwriter Abraham Trai releases debut single ‘The One‘, and it’s super special. A debut single always needs to stand out from the crowd, especially the oversaturated music industry today, and Abraham’s debut lives up to any expectations you might have had. Inspired by the likes of soulful singers such as Adele, Sam Smith and Lewis Capaldi, Abraham Trai is armed with a distinctive vocal ability and could easily be the next big thing in the soul genre.
Written with Louisa Glanville, ‘The One’ showcases Abraham’s delicate vocals with an intricate piano line. Capturing the heartbreak of losing a loved one, this sadly relatable single is breathtaking. Writing songs about his personal experiences in life, ‘The One’ is taken from his forthcoming album, expected in 2022.
Latvia based singer-songwriter and producer Waterflower (Sabine Moore) is one of those artists that makes music without boundaries. Thinking completely outside of the box and creating individual music, the newly released album ‘Balta Gaisma’ is her most original work to date. Known for her captivating soundscapes and use of flowers and plants to create musical tones, the new album is expressive and free to do whatever it wants.
Speaking out for many in the LGBTQ+ movement, this empowering artist channels 80s inspired textures within the release. Some stand out moments on the album are ‘Find It!”, an experimental wonder that feels like the lovechild of Björk and FKA Twigs, ‘Chemtrail’, a jagged synth number with triggered rhythms, and ‘Palm Vs Palm’, a delicate, deep electronic track with enchanting vocals.
On the whole creation of Waterflower, the songstress stated:
“As a conceptual artist I use many symbols, but one of my favourite art techniques for performance is something like Brian Eno’s creative strategy – to create a mechanism, run it, and see what happens. I start my Waterflower shows by connecting nearby plants. I never know how they will behave before the show, or how they will react to my touch. Experiments with different plant species intrigue me greatly. I started working with plant synthesizers in 2015, when I saw the Kickstarter project for the Ototo synthesizer.
I decided that this is what (..) “Waterflower” is all about, playing with plants as synthesizer keys. The technology used in Ototo also works with other materials, but plants are my choice. The other plant synthesizer I use is a MIDI Sprout. It measures the electromagnetic changes (impulses) in a plant and turns them into notes. Then it is up to me to find the most suitable instrument for these sound patterns. In each concert space, these plants create different melodies – I am very interested in that.”
Waterflower is an artist bathed in originality. A distinctive performer that always stays true to herself, the album explores the lightest and darkest parts of Sabine’s mind.
Cloudy Clouds releases his debut album, ‘Imprisoned in a Daydream’. A collection of songs filled with nostalgia and an instant ‘classic’ feel to it’s soundscape, this is a statement for the UK’s ever-growing hip-hop scene. Claudio Elliston aka Cloudy Clouds draws inspiration from artists such as Eminem and Sha Stimuli, but always brings his own individuality to the table. An artist that’s not afraid to beat around the bush, Cloudy Clouds’ iconic aspects include British humour, emotive lyricism and personal songwriting.
‘Imprisoned in a Daydream’ begins with a subtle American twang dialogue before venturing into the unknown. A hazy beginning that lingers in your mind for days, and as Claudio states.. ‘I don’t want to leave this dream ever.’ As for the next single, ‘Struggle Rappers Anthem’ isn’t for the faint hearted. Straight to the point about wanting more exposure with his distinctive songwriting, this grime-influenced number is bathed in hard-hitting rhythms. Bringing a strong flavour of the sound of rap in the noughties, ‘Calling Round’ blends elegant piano lines with creative vocals
‘Hear It’ is a collaboration straight from the heart. Featuring rapper Aïda, the lyrics are sharp and fuelled with hook-lines. While the instrumentation is mellow and easy-listening, the chaotic vocals on top are innovative.
‘Wavy’ is a thought-provoking, relatable number, while ‘Freewriting’ features an iconic piano line that nudges early Eminem vibes. ‘Dirty Secrets’ then enters with enchanting vocals, and turns into an experimental hip-hop wonder.
An album that thinks outside the box, most of the release still pays ode to Cloudy Clouds’ influences. Though with ‘My Environment,’ Cloudy Clouds is simply in his natural habitat. Rhyming on command and ambitious piano lines, this number flows like water from a stream.
‘Pillow Talk’ feels like a subtle album feeler on the release. At just under 2 minutes long, the backing vocals are simply bewitching. ‘One Night’ is the most commercial track on the record, and features a collaboration straight from the heavens. Firahs and Lucci Rich add their own flavour to this established anthem. ‘Wrote You a Love Song’ is infused with mainstream pop sensibilities.
Arguably Cloudy Clouds’ most powerful track, ‘Your Future Daughter’ deals with truthful dialogue on the UK’s drug laws. Armed with British commentary and unique views, it’s the haunting backing vocals that you’ll be singing along to. ‘Maybe Tomorrow Then’ tells the story of feeling unmotivated, and always remembering that you can just get things done tomorrow.
Describing the album in one word, ‘Priceless’ rounds off a release with purity and charisma. Cloudy Clouds is an artist filled with character – and the thoughtful, carefully-constructed tunes on this record deserve to be listened to.

Having been described as a ‘Rock version of Clean Bandit’, the band also bear similarities Kate Bush and Camera Obscura, with influences including the likes of The Smiths, David Bowie, Belle and Sebastian and Pulp.
