Dmitry Nechaev single ‘Memory (Unstaged)’ set for release Oct 29th

Flamboyant songwriter, Dmitry Nechaev is not the kind of artist who comes along every day. Born in Russia, his vocal is reminiscent of Savage Garden’s Darren Hayes, only with a deeper soul to the sound.

His latest single, due on October 29th, gives you a glimpse of what’s to come: https://soundcloud.com/dmitrynechaev/memory-unstaged

Watch him performing previous single ‘Anonymous’ here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWWxwiFcQYM

The single, recorded ‘as live’, is part of a larger collaborative project, stringing together a host of ‘Unstaged’ music videos to create a tightly woven plot. It’s an unusual way to release a single, but Dmitry has never done things the ordinary way.

Having toured the world while working as a model, his journey into the music industry started proper in 2008 when he won ‘Best Vocalist of the Year’ in a contest held between the leading music colleges and institutes of Moscow followed by debut album Ignis Fatuus release. For a time, he continued to work as a model, but has recently decided to make the transition to full time musician and songwriter.

Talented and creative in many fields – art, philosophy, music, writing, dance – Dmitry is an artist who will continue to work towards a career he believes to be his destiny. He is also a huge supporter of using his gifts to help others – several years ago taking part in a Moscow charity concert aimed at raising money to buy surgical equipment for Morozovsky Children’s Hospital. Being part of an event like that let him know he was on the right path, and he has not looked back since.

‘Contour Lines’ debut album from Shield Patterns

Shield Patterns

Track ‘Dust Hung Heavy’ features on new album ‘Contour Lines’, the debut album from Manchester based duo, Shield Patterns.

Only two years on from their first meeting, Claire Brentnall and Richard Knox’s, the pair that make Shield Patterns, release their first album. Creating an alternative mix of dark elctro pop combined with the wonderfully haunting vocals that Brenthall delivers.

Check out one of tracks from the new album here:

Following on from critically lauded lead single ‘Dust Hung Heavy’, Contour Lines carries the listener deeper into their world. Each track is laden with the kind of dark atmospherics most groups take years to unearth. Here, the fragility of Brentnall’s early demos remains, but finds itself imbued with a richness of sound that can only come from studious soul searching and a cathartic creative process. The vulnerability of her intensely personal lyrics is tempered with highly processed strings, subby bass-lines, and ambient passages that brood as much as they shimmer. Lines between aesthetic and content are blurred, so that singer and song are intertwined.

Shield Patterns are set to tour the UK this November.

Scottish four piece Estrella begin string of stellar releases with new single

Track ‘Whatever It Is’ taken from debut album ‘Come Out To Play’

Based in Aberdeen and with classic 70s/80s rock influences such as Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC and Bon Jovi, Estrella are an energetic rock four piece who are planning a busy 2014/2015. Touring Europe later in the year with ex-Guns N Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, the band are gearing up to hitting the road in October with a single release that throws back to their debut album – initially released in 2012.

With a second album due in May 2015 and singles from it on the way later this year and early next, Estrella aim to set the scene with ‘Whatever It Is’ – an impactful, guitar laden screamer of a track about fulfilling what you set out to achieve, born out of the band’s desire to do nothing else but make music their career.

You can hear the track here which is released October 13th:

https://soundcloud.com/estrellarocks/whatever-it-is

The band – a trio of brothers Paul Gunn (Frontman), Luke Gunn (Lead Guitarist) and Nathan Gunn (Bass) plus Leo McPherson (Drummer) – already have a storied career in music behind them having toured Europe with American rocker and UK chart topper Robin Beck. And it’s a mark of their growing stature that they have been selected to tour with Gilby Clarke this November.

It’s all thanks to a reputation for putting on an excellent live show, a buzzing, crackling gig that plays on a fictional ‘sibling rivalry’ between the three brothers and creates a tension which is only released by the heaviness of the music.

They combine this bristling live show with an ultra-professional approach to capturing that energy in their studio recordings, working with some top industry names in order to realise their ambitions. Their debut album ‘Come Out to Play’ was co-written and produced by John T Sinclair (ex-keyboard player for Uriah Heep, The Cult and the Ozzy Osbourne band). It was engineered by Ashley Howe (Queen, Led Zeppelin) and mastered by Grammy award winning Richard Dodds (Uriah Heep, FreddieMercury, Green Day).

Their new album – due May 2015 – will be overseen by producer Nick Brine (The Darkness, Bruce Springsteen, Thunder, Oasis) and will also see pre-production and mastering duties taken up by Pete Shoulder (The Union), Luke Morley (Thunder, The Union) and Pete Mayer (Rolling Stones, U2, Killers, Jack White, Katy Perry, The Killers). High calibre names who are extremely picky about who they work with.

It’s an approach which has won Estrella many fans, including Classic Rock Magazine and XFM presenters including Tom Russell and noted music tastemaker Jim Gellatly. And with the European tour, three singles and an album due by May next year, you’ll be hearing plenty more of them.

Daniel David’s solo single ‘Me an U’ released 28th August

Single written after chance meeting with pop singer Cheryl Cole in a London night club

Hailing from East London and the creator of gritty dance pop tracks, Daniel David is no stranger to music industry success. He was part of an urban music group with none other than Labrinth, Daniel has played huge stages, such as the Radio 1 Big Weekender in front of 70,000 people, as well as winning an Urban Music Award for Best Video and being nominated for a MOBO – losing out only to JLS.

Now working on a solo career, his new single ‘Me an U’ is a bass heavy, infectious tune inspired by a chance meeting with Cheryl Cole in London’s exclusive ‘The Box’ nightclub. At the time, the singer was going through her high profile issues with ex-husband Ashley Cole, and the song was written as an offer of escape

You can hear the single here:

http://youtu.be/QbZP0qApgvc

Daniel David is an artist who continues to build a reputation amongst his peers and the music fans, particularly in London. Amongst those voicing their support for his work you will find the likes of Plan B, Professor Green and Paul Young, not to mention aforementioned band mate Labrinth.

It’s a growing reputation that stands him in excellent stead going forward, particularly if he continues to release high quality tracks with great production like ‘Me an U’.

Daniel is also an artist who takes seriously the development of young talent in the music industry, having started a label called Eagle Rush Global to help give younger people a chance in the industry as well as create in imprint for his own work.

It’s this kind of attitude and work ethic that is likely to see Daniel David to the top of his game.

Roots songwriter John Fairhurst set to debut new trio with upcoming singles and LP

First single ‘Breakdown’ released August 18th, followed by ‘No Shelter’ September 27th

Album ‘Saltwater’ released October 18th

Bristol based, the John Fairhurst Band are a newly formed trio fronted by their eponymous songwriter. Drawing from Rock, blues and world music, with a penchant for slide guitar and a distinctive deep growling voice, his songs, delivered in pure raconteur style, narrate all the hardships of life on the road

For the first time, John Fairhurst will be releasing his new album – and the preceding singles – accompanied by a powerhouse rhythm section of Bristols young guns: Toby Murray & Pete Episcopo.

For a taste of their sound, check out this video for ‘Breakdown’:

http://youtu.be/2_FazFk_EGw

The new releases is a turning point in the career of John Fairhurst, marking the shift from solo artist and duo member to power rock blues trio. In the course of his career so far, he has spent the last decade travelling the world and supported the likes of Fun Lovin’ Criminals, performed with world beatbox champions Bellatrix and Reeps1 and the late, great, blues legend Johnny Winter. He includes Winter among his fans, as well as Robbie Macintosh of The Pretenders and Indian Sarod Master, K Sridhar– just a small indication of the quality of his live show.

The new material is the fruit of first class production: Alex Beitzke (Jamiroquai, Florence and The Machine, Nigel Kennedy, Ed Sheeran, Prince) , Paul Cartledge (Tony Visconti) and mastering engineer Ray Staff (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Clash).

This fantastic pedigree of collaborators is the result of a prolific approach to gigging, playing between 200-250 gigs a year between 2011 and 2014. Highlights include taking to the stage at SXSW in Austin, Texas, playing the Roundhouse in London and opening for Johnny Winter on his European Tour. That’s not to mention countless festival appearances and 35 gigs at Glastonbury alone since 2008, including a performance this year on The Glade Stage.

All highly impressive for a career that he “fell into” almost by chance. Taking a tumble down an unmarked manhole while labouring on a building site, Fairhurst had little mobility for a year following a serious knee injury. He used some of the money from the accident compensation to immediately buy a National Resonator guitar, playing it incessantly for the year he was bed bound, truly feeling the blues. It’s during this year that he really developed virtuoso finger-picking techniques and found the sound which carried him across four continents.

Singer-songwriter Lauren Rich set for EP and single release

‘The Same Sky’ EP and ‘The Drink Talking’ single both released 29th September

Born in London and living in Hertfordshire, Lauren Rich is a singer-songwriter who certainly knows how to weave her distinctive voice around an effective acoustic chord pattern. With a taste for harmony and autobiographical lyrics that mean her songs border on country, Lauren is an artist with a bright future.

The next step in her musical career will see Lauren run a simultaneous release, with single ‘The Drink Talking’ taken from EP ‘The Same Sky’. Recorded with engineer Alan Emptage (Skunk Anansie, Arcade Fire, London Grammar, Adam Ant, Boy George) at OneLouder Studios, the single was written with a hangover when Lauren realised she sent a drunken text to a guy the night before: https://soundcloud.com/laurenrichmusic/the-drink-talking

Impressively, the full EP was recorded around spells in hospital where Lauren was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. However, she made it a point of pride to continue with her work, not wanting to let people down seeing as the EP was paid for by her fans, who supported her through a successful crowd funding campaign.

It’s little wonder that she is turning so many heads. Having performed at prestigious London venues such as Proud in Camden and The Water Rats in Kings Cross, not to mention playing live during radio interviews with BBC London and BBC Three Counties, her knack for catchy, acoustic melodies is clearly catching on.

In the meantime, ‘The Same Sky’ EP and ‘The Drink Talking’ single are both released 29th September.

Loaded Sista want ‘No Drama’ with debut album due in first week of September

LP will be followed by single: ‘World Domination’

A London based duo of female vocalists Keisha Rodney & Salli Alexander, Loaded Sista are a pop act founded 2009. Originally named Frayja after the Norse Goddess who calls upon us women to stand up and love ourselves, the name was changed to Loaded Sista in 2011 when a name chance and re-branding helped take the pair to the next level.

Writing powerful, autobiographical songs and hoping to empower female listeners everywhere, the duo are turning plenty of heads, including sound engineer Roy Merchant (Adele, Example) who has worked with them on their material.

For a sample of the unique Loaded Sista sound, check out album track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txe5M7X_kp0

During the course of building their reputation, the Loaded Sista girls have been working to keep a high profile. They have already performed on ITV, as part of a This Morning Christmas Review ‘with the Silver Fox and Holly Willoughby’….and also performed at the Edmonton Olympic Ceremony as the torch moved through. They also played to over 5,000 people at Worcester’s Help for Heroes concert, as well as playing numerous carnivals inside and outside the capital.

Most recently, in the lead up to this album release, Loaded Sista signed up to help launch ‘Free The Music Book’, a new crowd funding site designed exclusively to help musicians release a single album. The debut Loaded Sista album ‘No Drama’ will be available within the month in association with the site, and the duo are hoping that the partnership can help raise awareness of both their music and the site.

SOLEMN SUN announce UK Headline Tour for November!

solemn sun

Feeling a little lost and unsure of the path you’re walking is one thing, having the vision and strength to do something about it, is another thing entirely. Earlier this year, folk-punks Jim Lockey and The Solemn Sun found themselves at that very junction, having released two full length albums under the moniker, the band opted to lay their previous works to rest and regroup to make plans for the next step.

“We’d reached the juncture where most would wander the beaten path and churn out a carbon copy of the last effort,” says Jim. “Having little time for bands that stagnate and even less for being consumed by the scene we found ourselves in, we decided we would take our band back from what it became. We would re-establish ourselves as people, reinvent the band we are and restart our journey again on our own terms.“

The result is SOLEMN SUN, an ambitious rock outfit, with only a dissected name from their previous output remaining. Debut single, ‘Josef’, is not only a clear statement of intent from the re-energised and re-focused quartet, but a perfect appetiser for what’s the come. You can watch the mesmerising new video to ‘Josef’ here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgqoYQhN2no
